How to Use the pH Converter

This guide explains how to use the pH Converter tool to calculate pH, pOH, hydrogen ion concentration, and hydroxide ion concentration, and understand their relationships.

Steps to Use the Converter

  1. Enter pH Value:
    Input a pH value between 0 and 14 in the pH field.

  2. Enter Hydrogen Ion Concentration:
    Alternatively, input the hydrogen ion concentration in mol/L or other units.

  3. Adjust Temperature:
    Set the temperature in °C to see how it affects the ionization constant (Kw) and calculations.

  4. Select Common Substances:
    Choose from a list of common substances to see their typical pH values.

  5. View Calculated Values:
    The tool will display pH, pOH, [H⁺], [OH⁻], Kw, and classification (acid, base, neutral).

  6. Visualize pH Scale:
    See the position on the pH scale and acidity/basicity bar.

  7. Reset to Neutral:
    Use the reset button to return to neutral pH (7.0) and standard temperature (25°C).

Tips

  • Use the unit toggle to switch between mol/L, mmol/L, μmol/L, and nmol/L for concentrations.
