Mancala is a family of ancient board games played around the world. This free browser version uses the familiar Kalah layout: two rows of six pits, with a store at each end. Start a quick solo match against the computer or play locally with a friend.
How to play Mancala
- Choose one of the pits on your side. Its seeds are distributed one by one around the board.
- Seeds skip your opponent’s store. Landing in your own store earns an extra turn.
- Land in an empty pit on your side to capture that seed and the seeds opposite it.
- When one side is empty, the other player collects the seeds left on their side. The player with the most seeds wins.
Plan a few moves ahead: a small pile can be more valuable when it lands in your store or sets up a capture.
